Duration
Full-time course
Approx. 1080 units à 45 minutes and 640 hours on-the-job training à 60 minutes (Advanced training course for graduates of the course “Betreuungspädagoge”)
Mondays to Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Part-time course
Approx. 1080 units (you can do your on-the-job training at the facility you are employed at)
Wednesdays and Thursdays 2 p.m. to 17 p.m. (possibly online), every 6 weeks Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 16:15 p.m. (partly in-house teaching in Dortmund), two weeks intensive stage (in-house teaching in Dortmund) Mondays to Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 16:15 p.m.
Admission requirements
a) related vocational qualification- or
b) qualification as certified "Kinderpfleger", certified "Sozialassistent" and certified "Sozialassistent" specialised in "Heilerziehung"- or
c) non-related vocational qualification but related work experience of at least 240 hours (within a year) in an approved facility- or
d) graduation from a 2-years course in a technical college in welfare or public health with further work experience and "Fachoberschulreife" or-
e) graduation from a "Fachoberschulreife" in welfare or public health with further work experience and "Fachhochschulreife"- or
f) related full-time work experience of at least 5 years (time spent in a related technical college can be credited); (in case of part-time work experience or training, duration will be extended accordingly)- or
g) university entrance qualification ("Hochschulreife") and related full-time work experience of at least 240 hours (within a year) in an adequate facility.
